On the interstate you will not notice it. Loaded, on a long grade, you will. The Next runs a diesel and copes better high up.
This decides more than the model does. Heat under the floor and a shell insulated for four seasons are what keep a van in service through February rather than under a cover until May. Buyers here tend to come for ski weekends and find the summer use later. If yours will sit from November to April, you are paying for warmth you will not use.
Be honest with yourself before ordering. Rocky Mountain National Park is roughly two hours from downtown, the Collegiate Peaks two and a half, Great Sand Dunes about four, Moab five and a half. If most trips stay inside that first ring and on pavement, the Lite or Plus is plenty of van. If you want the dispersed sites past the trailhead, take the Next.
